Now that was a gala!
Congratulations to the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, its members and its hard-working staff for pulling together a real zinger of a fall gala Friday night at the city’s conference center.
Close to 500 people attended the annual affair, during which the cream of the crop of local business, industry and non-profits received well-deserved awards.
Keynote speaker Russ Capper was a hit with his animated, interesting and uniquely local perspective on the importance of entrepreneurship in the business world today.
The music by Albanie & Her Fellas was as sweet as the chocolate mousse, and the silent auction and after-party dance and Texas Hold-Em Poker session topped off an outstanding evening.
Run much like a successful business, the program offered value, efficiency and customer satisfaction – not to mention some good old-fashioned fun.
As advertised, the event celebrated heritage and embraced progress.
And it do so with no shortage of pizazz. RHR
