Indications are that Hays County politics is already beginning to heat up in anticipation of next year’s election.
This has always been a county of hotly contested races, with the Democrats and Republicans each taking their turns at the helm.
Unfortunately, regardless of the party in power, many of the same questions, concerns and frustrations continue to haunt the electorate.
Voters just don't think they’re getting what they are paying for, either in terms of governmental transparency or fiscal responsibility.
Now it could be that Hays County folks are just a cantankerous bunch and never satisfied with anything.
More likely, however, is that the age-old game of politics – as it’s played by both Red and Blue – continues its tradition of leaving taxpayers holding the short end of the stick. RHR
