San Marcos’ selection as one of the nation’s top communities in which to raise children is gratifying.
Criteria for the honor was wide ranging, and the fact that BusinessWeek was behind the effort lends additional credibility to the rankings.
This honor sends an important message to local residents, visitors, prospective business and industry as well as families searching for just the right spot to put down some new roots.
The message it does not send, however, is that it’s OK to let up on efforts to improve what we have accomplished.
Congratulations to all in San Marcos who have helped to make this national recognition possible.
It is quite an honor.
Now let’s get back to work making this city even better.
