The flu bug buzz isn’t quite as loud as it was when the H1N1 strain first began to make its presence known a few months ago.
But that doesn't mean it’s safe to let our guard down against the flu.
Complications from this sickness can strike quickly, quietly and sometimes in a deadly manner.
And while we’d like to think ‘tis the season for more holiday-oriented activities, we must first deal with this annual health care danger.
Flu vaccines are available, and the county will this week begin administering the H1N1 vaccine to residents at risk.
While individuals can be expected to weigh the value and risks of any vaccine, those traditional bubbly flu precautions can certainly be agreed upon by most.
Washing our hands is an important part of keeping germs controlled and people well.
Washing our hands of flu precautions prematurely, however, is just asking for big trouble. RHR
