A sense of community

The recent cold weather has seen San Marcos families and friends gathering around the fire for warmth and togetherness.

The fire around

which some local residents gathered Sunday afternoon, however, was not a scene of fellowship, but of sadness.

The destruction of Amkon Feed Store is unfortunate not only for the owners of the business and building, but for the community as well.

As those who operated this respected establishment regain their footing and make decisions for the future, it is expected that their neighbors here will step forward in an effort to help.

Honest businesses which serve the people well are certainly deserving of a helping hand when it is needed.

That, after all, is what a real community is all about.

Isn’t it? RHR
