Eggs over San Marcos
By CANDICE BRUSUELAS
If you see helicopters hovering over San Marcos this Saturday, don’t be alarmed. They’re only dropping 20,000 easter eggs over City Park.
Dan Matlock, lead pastor of Eikon Church, says the April 19 easter egg hunt will be their first.
The church will be holding the hunt at 11 a.m. at the park, with three different age-specific hunts. Matlock says 20,000 plastic easter eggs will be hidden on the ground, while the other half of the eggs, another 20,000, will be dropped from a helicopter.
“We had heard about another church doing (a helicopter drop egg hunt) on the east coast and we thought it’d be an incredible opportunity to do something that the kids would really love,” said Matlock.
The helicopter company, Helicopter Tours of Texas, has actually done this several times before.
