Volunteers set to begin new Habitat home

Pam Brown and daughter Tyra will contribute 300 hours of labor to help volunteers build their new San Marcos Area Habitat for Humanity home at 319 Jackman Street.
The slab will be poured soon and then volunteers and local contractors can start on construction. To volunteer, register at habitatforhumanity sanmarcos.org. Voice mail is 754-8142.
Volunteers from Promiseland Church and the community showed up May 10 to clear a lot so that construction can begin on the latest Habitat home. New partners Pam Brown, and daughter Lyra, are third from left (in photo above). Kneeling, fifth from right, is local Habitat board member and construction supervisor Larry Brotzman. On his right is board member Marty Sorell.
