El Tesoro de la Vida (The Treasure of Life) Grief Camp, a Camp Fire USA resident grief camp for children who have lost a loved one to death, will be the recipient of proceeds from a concert to be held at 7 p.m. May 30 at Chapel in the Hills.
Native Texan Kelly Webb Ferebee is performing selections to fit a wide variety of musical tastes in a concert titled “White Wigs to Feather Boas.”
One week each summer, children ages six - 16, licensed therapists and a volunteer staff gather at Camp Fire USA’s El Tesoro campsite in Granbury (www.CampElTesoro.org)
Children participate in group therapy one hour each day and spend the rest of the day doing regular camp activities. Therapists stay on site and are available at all times for campers and staff. The concert will raise funds to help provide scholarships for children in need so they can attend camp.
“El Tesoro de la Vida facilitates healing for children in ways no other therapy can match,” Ferebee said.
Webb-Ferebee is the daughter of Wimberley resident Bettye Webb and the late Cloys Webb.
