AnnaLee Rash started watching “Wheel of Fortune” when she was three years old with with her grandmother and great-grandmother. She even wanted to be Vanna White because of “Vanna’s pretty dresses.”
To actually be on the show? It would be a dream come true.
Rash will be one of three contestanst on the show scheduled to air at 6 p.m. Tuesday on NBC, Austin KXAN or KENS in San Antonio.
Just over a year ago, Anna applied online to be a contestant. One can imagine her excitement when she received a call to go to an open audition in Austin last summer. She made it through both rounds of the audition and a written test. Then she received the call to go to Los Angeles in early April and taped the show on April 17.
“Taping the show was very cool,” AnnaLee said. “It was like a day-long pep rally backstage. We got to meet Pat Sajack and Vanna White and spent a lot of time practicing and getting to spin the wheel, which is extremely heavy.”
Rash admits that she was pretty obsessed with the show.
“I taped every show every day and watched almost 30 episodes in the two days immediately preceding the taping. In fact, while on the set, I asked Vanna if she needed a replacement for her job and volunteered right on the spot,” Rash said.
AnnaLee is the daughter of Tony and Kerry Rash of San Marcos. She graduated from San Marcos High School in 2004 and was a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Marketing. She is currently employed in a marketing position in Houston. She was a member of the first Heritage Association of San Marcos' Debutante Class and is a member of First Christian Church in San Marcos.
