Concert series rolls on with Irish, Christian tunes

— Two bands will take the stage as the Summer in the Park Series rolls on at 7:30 p.m. tonight at San Marcos Plaza Park.
O'Malarkey! is a high energy Celtic/Irish band that formed in 2001. It has played regularly at Excalibur Fantasy Faire in Smithville, Salado's Tablerock Fantasy Faire, San Marcos Sights & Sounds, Cafe on the Square in San Marcos, New Year's Eve at the Emily Ann Theater in Wimberley, and The Blue Goat Gourmet in San Marcos. The band currently has five members.
The Joel Schwartz Band is a Christian group that plays the last Thursday of every month at Chiro Java in Seguin. According to its Web site, the “lyrics vary from lessons on materialism, God's love, blessings in times of difficulty, family and good old story telling.” Concerts are free and open to the public.
