Because of Hurricane Ike, blood supplies have been greatly depleted and donations have fallen drastically because usual gulf-coast donors are busy rebuilding their homes and their lives.
San Marcos residents are invited to come to First Christian Church, 3105 Ranch Road 12 between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25 where the Blood Center of Central Texas will be receiving blood donations.
Other blood drive events include the Texas State Sigma Nu Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Quad on the Texas State University campus; and 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 23 at the CFAN parking lost, 1000 Technology Way in San Marcos.
