San Antonio — Fifty Hays County 4-H members recently participated at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition with their livestock projects, with several taking home honors.
“All of the individuals who exhibited projects under the heading of Hays
County 4-H represented all of the young people from Hays County in a manner that exhibited good character and sportsmanship,” Hays County Extension Agent Richard Parrish said. “There is reason to be proud of all of our exhibitors.
The students competed against 4-H and FFA members from across the state of Texas.
In the Market Swine Show, Dana John, a member of the Buda 4-H Club, placed 1st with her Finewool Cross lamb. Kyle 4-H Club member Michaela Lehman placed third in her class with her crossbred barrow.
Railey Mikeska, a member of the Dripping Springs 4-H club, received fourth place honors with her Shorthorn steer.
