Local 4-H kids winners at State Horse Show

San Marcos — Several Hays County students came home winners in the Texas 4-H State Horse Show at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene recently.

Hays County 4-H was represented by an experienced delegation of young riders who participated among more than 1,000 4-H exhibitors from across the state. 

Megan Swirczynski, a member of the Wimberley 4-H Club, place 10th in the Pole Bending Class.  Caresse McGee, also a Wimberley 4-H Club member, placed 7th in the Stakes Race. 

Jarrett New placed 6th in the Breakaway Roping Class and 3rd in the Team Roping Class.  He is a member of the Wimberley 4-H Club.

Also a member of the Wimberley 4-H Club, Max Ramsey placed 4th in the Team Roping Class. 

Other Hays County 4-H members that participated in the State 4-H Horse Show include Katie Dickinson, Cassandra Twining and Olivia Twining, all members of the Dripping Springs 4-H Club, Kaitlyn Eben, a member of the Buda 4-H Club, and Megan Azopardi, Kiera McGee, Tanner Hileman, J.B. Gooding, and Anna Weinheimer, all members of the Wimberley 4-H Club.
