Starlight Symphony opens new season at FBC in Wimberley
The Starlight Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Donald K. Miller, announces its first concerts of the 2009-2010 season. The concerts will be held on Saturday Oct. 17 at First Baptist Church in Wimberley at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 18 at Sunset Canyon Baptist Church in Dripping Springs at 4 p.m.
The Starlight Symphony is a regional, community orchestra for Wimberley, Driftwood, Dripping Springs, Oak Hill, Buda, Kyle, Lockhart, San Marcos, Canyon Lake, Blanco, Johnson City and surrounding Central Texas communities.
The Fall Concert Series will be a program of classics and will feature Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute, Beethoven’s 8th Symphony, and Three Dances for Winds by Susato and Strauss’ Serenade for Winds. The concert will conclude with Korsakoff’s Capriccio Espagnol. As always, these concerts are free but donations are appreciated.
