When the Gruene Orchid Society meets tonight, it will be doing something new.
The group will travel to Austin to hear guest speaker Fred Clarke, owner of Sunset Valley Orhchids.
The group will meet at the Gulf States LTAC Hospital in New Braunfels at 6 p.m. and form car pools to go to Austin. In Austin they will be guests of the Heart O' Texas Orchid Society, to hear a presentation by Clarke.
The Gruene Orchid Society of New Braunfels normally meets the first Tuesday of each month. Visitors and new members are welcome. Anyone having an interest in the culture and beauty of orchids is encouraged to attend.
The Heart O' Texas Orchid Society meets at the Zilker Botanical Garden located at 2220 Barton Springs Road in Austin. That Society will form their "plant table" at 7 p.m. Their formal meeting begins about 7:30 p.m.
