‘Inspecting Carol’ opens Nov. 20
Wimberley — The Wimberley Players’ latest production, the holiday inspired “Inspecting Carol,” will open Nov. 20 at the Playhouse.
“Inspecting Carol” is the story of a small theatre company trying to pull together its annual cash-cow production of “A Christmas Carol.” Their four-day rehearsal schedule is way too scant, the National Endowment for the Arts is threatening to stop grant money for the group, and the accountant has just informed the director that they are on the brink of bankruptcy.
“Inspecting Carol” was written by Dan Sullivan and the Seattle Repertory Theatre. It is being directed by Dawn Youngs, an established theatre professional first seen in Wimberley in “Stop the World, I Want to Get Off.”
“Inspecting Carol” runs from Friday, Nov. 20 to Sunday, Dec. 13. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 except for opening night, which is preceded by a reception at 7 p.m. ($25). They may be purchased online at www.wimberleyplayers.org or call (512) 847-0575.
