Luling Care Center turns 40 years old

Luling — Family owned and operated since 1967, Luling Care Center (LCC) staff believes it has lived up to the promise made by founder and Evangelist, Inez Matthews Brown.

Brown once said, “I promise to abide by the Golden Rule.” Her goal was to open a home-type facility in a residential area that would offer unconditional love through nursing and long-term care.

Supported by her family, friends and her church, Inez and her husband, Charles Brown, opened Luling Care Center. Services provided are based on health and rehabilitative care and long-term assisted living.

Brown was a contributor to the standardized regulation of the Texas Nursing Home industry. She was one of 124 personally invited by then Governor of Texas, John Connally, to be present when the bill was signed.

Brown’s daughter and LCC administrator, Evelyn Hanson, has worked to continue to keep her mother’s promise alive.

“We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do," Hanson said.

Luling Care Center is located at 501 W. Austin Street. For more information, contact them at (830) 875-5628, or visit their website at www.lulingcarecenter.com.
