Editor,
In the Nov. 3 San Marcos Daily Record, John Barthel asks why the Record does not publish the votes of our Congressional representatives. While I don’t pretend to know the answer to that question, my guess is that there is not enough advertising revenue to pay for the space that it would take on a daily basis. Regardless, that information is already available “for free,” if you have a computer with Internet access, or have access to the Public Library’s computers.
By the way, I certainly do not attribute any malicious or “conspiratorial” intent to the Record. To say that “they don’t want us to know what our representatives are up to” is a slander that I do not think the Record deserves.
A complete tally of all roll call votes of the U.S. Senate is found here
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/vote_menu_111_1.htm (Click on the “VOTE” on the left-hand side to see how each Senator voted.)
A complete tally of all roll call votes of the House of Representatives is found here:

House and Senate: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes.xpd
All of these Web sites have much additional information about both houses of Congress which everyone will find educational.
