San Marcos was officially selected Monday as one of the last three stops in Texas for the Barack Obama campaign.
The democratic presidential nominee is scheduled to speak Wednesday night at Sewell Park.
Gates will open at 7 p.m. and the program will start at 9:15 p.m.
Admission is free and open to the public. According to the Obama Web site however, space is limited and an RSVP is required. To sign up, visit the Web site http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/sanmarcos.
City spokeswoman Melissa Millecam said details regarding street closures will be released today.
“I know they intend to close a number of streets,” she said. “People should expect some real big detours.”
