Movies in the Park screening tonight

San Marcos The city of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, Time Warner Cable and the San Marcos Daily Record have teamed up to bring a summer of “Movies in The Park” to San Marcos Plaza.

The season will begin with a pre-summer showing of the movie Ratatouille tonight. The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. Pre-movie activities will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include active games for kids of all ages. Lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray are encouraged. Concessions will be available.

Twelve movies are scheduled in all, including Surf’s Up, Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything, Nancy Drew, RV, Shrek 3, Evan Almighty, Bee Movie, Kicking and Screaming, Daddy Day Camp, Hairspray, and The Spiderwick Chronicles. The summer series will begin June 10 and continue through Aug. 19. Movies will be held every Tuesday and will begin as soon as the sun has set for the evening.
