Nash seeks position on PEC Board of Directors

Hays County businessman and former Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission chairman Chuck Nash is seeking the District 7 director's position on the Pedernales Electric Cooperative Board of Directors.

Nash is running as an independent candidate, pledging to devote 10 to 12 hours a week to a job he describes as having a “vital impact on the Central Texas economy and quality of life.”

“In these times of escalating energy prices, I believe a strong business background is necessary to protect our economic well-being, particularly as we negotiate a long-term energy supply contract with the Lower Colorado River Authority,” Nash said.

Nash is a 30-year resident of Hays County, serving as CEO of Chuck Nash Auto Group.

Voting in the election by mail or online ends Friday, June 13. Mail ballots must be postmarked by June 13.

Voting can be conducted online by visiting the PEC Web site at www.pec.coop and linking with the external Web site set up by Election Services Corporation to administer the election.

Voters will need the personal identification code sent out with their PEC ballot or call ESC toll free at 866-720-4357 if experiencing problems voting online. Online voting will end at 11:59 p.m. Friday June 13.

“I would appreciate the vote of any PEC member who shares my concern about the importance of this election on the future of Central Texas and the pocketbook concerns it will have,” Nash said.

If elected to serve the unexpired term, Nash said he would seek office for no more than two more three year terms.
