Womack to perform at 2009 CTMC gala

Country Music Award and Grammy award winning country artist Lee Ann Womack will be the featured entertainer at Central Texas Medical Center Foundation’s 17th annual Stars of Texas Gala slated for Sunday, Oct. 11.
The Texas native began honing her craft when, as a young girl, her father, a part-time disc jockey, frequently took her to the studio and let her pick out records to play.
Today, Womack balances life as a wife, mother and major music star best known for her crossover hit “I Hope You Dance,” which garnered three CMA Awards in 2001.
“We are very excited to have Ms. Womack perform for our guests at this year’s gala,” Jerilyn Miller, CTMC Foundation coordinator, said.  “Since the event will honor the women of CTMC’s medical staff, it seems appropriate that such a talented and successful woman provide the night’s entertainment.”
The gala will be held in San Marcos at the new Embassy Suites Hotel, Spa and Conference Center.
Planning is well under
way for the black tie event, which will again feature a gourmet meal and a silent auction that includes memorabilia autographed by Womack.
Gala proceeds will benefit CTMC’s new Women’s Center, slated to open in November of 2009.
