Reyes is honored by Air Evac

Air Evac Lifeteam selected clinical educator and Buda resident Romnee Reyes as its 2009 Regional Clinical Educator of the Year, June 20 during the company’s regional awards banquet in Waco.

The awards banquet honored employees from the Texas region.

The Regional Clinical Educator of the Year is presented to a clinical educator who works as a team player through selfless service, works to improve communication between others in the company, promotes Air Evac through community involvement and strives to continually assist others in being successful clinicians.

“If anyone epitomizes the word change it would be Romnee. She has been through more than most and has survived it with a positive attitude and a contagious smile. Remaining focused on the company’s mission and dedication to patient care, this educator forges ahead to ensure the success of the crews,” said Director of Clinical Care Services Robbie Covert.

“Road Trip has a whole new meaning for Romnee. Bases in the middle of nowhere seem to be her theme yet she can be found in the midst of their base meetings working through competencies and providing feedback on flights. She has gone above and beyond, found herself in situations none of us would have imagined yet she never questioned the request for assistance. Determination and a very large heart have taken Romnee and Texas to new heights,” Covert added.

Reyes is currently the educator for Marble Falls, Carrizo Springs, Hondo, Kerrville and Ennis. Over the last year she has helped cover several other bases in Texas as well.

She and her husband have an 11-year-old son, J.D., and a 17-month-old daughter, Isabella. “We just announced we are expecting baby number three in January,” she added.

“I am eternally grateful to my husband for his help and complete understanding with the amount of time this job takes. There have been many times we have had to change our plans or work has interrupted family time, but he always understands,” Reyes said.

“I am thrilled to have been given this award. I love to work with all my crew members.  It is a joy to be able to teach and learn from them as well.  They are a great group of people and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
