Crime of the Week

Police seek assist with aggravated assault

San Marcos Hays County Crime Stoppers is assisting the San Marcos Police Department in solving the following aggravated assault:

On Thursday, July 31 at approximately 11:34 p.m., San Marcos Police Officers and San Marcos EMS were dispatched to Bum’s Billiards, located on Hopkins Street near Cheatham Street in San Marcos, for a report of a male who had been stabbed in the back.

Witnesses reported that after a disturbance inside the bar, Bum’s employees were engaged in clearing everyone out the building.

As the patrons were exiting the billiard hall, a Hispanic male in his early 20s wearing a yellow Polo style shirt and khaki shorts, reached around from outside the door and stabbed a bar employee in the lower back.

After the stabbing, the actor and two other men then ran out to a white Ford F-150 pick up truck and left the scene, after hitting a maroon Pontiac in the parking lot.

Witnesses could not provide a direction of travel or license plate for the fleeing pick up truck.  San Marcos Police investigators have not been able to identify the suspect or the get-away vehicle and need your help to solve this heinous crime.

If you have any information that could help the San Marcos Police Department solve this felony crime, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS (8477).

If your information leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect(s), you will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

All calls are totally confidential and all callers will remain anonymous.  You do not have to give your name and you will not have to testify in court.
