Police have few leads in a case involving four car burglaries that appear to have been crimes of opportunity.
Four vehicles were discovered burglaries at an auto shop in the 100 block of South CM Allen Parkway Tuesday morning, indicating the thief or thieves struck overnight.
SMPD Sergeant Dave Waugh said none were locked. In-dash stereos were stolen from three of them and factory door speakers from the fourth. All four vehicles were in a lot opposite LBJ Drive.
“It’s not uncommon for people to be checking parking lots for crimes of opportunity,” Waugh said. “Vehicles are one of the primary targets of the burglars around San Marcos.”
