Pedernales Electric wil host an Kyle open house on July 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Word of Life Church to explain new rates and provide an example of PEC's redesigned bill.
PEC representatives will be available to answer questions and provide more information to members.
In June, PEC directors approved a new rate structure and revised line extension policy designed to more clearly distinguish PEC's costs from power supply costs, bring the cooperative more in line with industry standards and reduce annual overall charges by about $2.5 million.
These changes will go into effect with requests and bills rendered on or after Aug. 1.
