San Marcos —
Results of the city’s branding survey will soon be revealed.
The nine-member task force in charge of a one-month long online branding survey for the city of San Marcos will see the final results on Wednesday, March 24, city officials said this week.
The community-wide initiative began late last year and was open to anyone who lives or works in San Marcos.
Almost 1,000 people participated in the survey, with 857 full responses and 108 partial responses, officials said. The survey was launched on Friday, Jan. 29 and closed on Sunday, Feb. 28.
“The branding process asks questions like, ‘what do we want to be known for? How do we stand out from other communities? What comes to mind when people think of San Marcos?’” said Branding Task Force Chair Pam Couch.
City officials said the goal of the project is to develop a unique San Marcos “brand” that can be used to enhance tourism, economic development and marketing of San Marcos by many community organizations.
The results will aid in creating a new logo and tagline for the city.
KGBTexas and TateAustinHahn are consulting with the city of San Marcos on the Branding Project.
It is funded through hotel occupancy revenues saved over the last several years and is expected to conclude this summer.
