San Marcos — San Marcos CISD assistant principals are shifting throughout the district after two administrators announced that they will be leaving at the end of the semester.
Rachel Solis from Goodnight Junior High School and Enrique Garcia from Miller Junior High School will be leaving their posts in May to pursue other opportunities, district officials said.
To fill the posts, Superintendent Dr. Patty Shafer said this week that some changes will be made.
Ricardo Soliz, current assistant principal of Hernandez Intermediate School, will be moving to Miller Junior High for the 2008-2009 school year. Beverly Smith, also an assistant principal at Hernandez Intermediate, will be filling the position at Goodnight Junior High.
Amber Gilley, teaching and learning department coordinator, will be filling a newly vacant spot as assistant principal at Hernandez. Christine Kent, current assistant principal at Travis Elementary School, will be filling the second spot at Hernandez.
Cynthia Pavia, principal at Travis Elementary, has accepted an administrative position within SMCISD in the Teaching and Learning department. She will begin her job after the end of the semester.
The shifts leave an assistant principal vacancy at Travis Elementary, which district officials said they plan to fill before summer vacation.
