Pharmacy hit by burglars; three sought

By Anita Miller

San Marcos — Police don’t know yet who the three men are who broke into a San Marcos pharmacy earlier this week but one thing is sure — they did so with specific intentions.

“They obviously knew what they were looking for,” said SMPD Corporal John Reeder of the three suspects, described as slender black males in their early to mid 20s.

Reeder said the three busted out a window to gain entry to the Thorpe Lane Pharmacy minutes after 1 a.m. on Tuesday. Video surveillance cameras showed them leaving the business one minute and 29 seconds later; after an alarm sounded but before police arrived.

Reeder said the trio took “several bottles” of medication including the powerful painkillers Hydrocodone and Oxycodone as well as Adderall and methadone. They also escaped with some cash.

The same cameras that tracked the suspects’ entry and departure also showed the men were all wearing gloves and had white bandanas on their faces.

SMPD Corporal Dan Royston is handling the investigation.
