Motorists will have to deal with the closing of part of McCarty Lane until Sept. 15.
The San Marcos City Council has awarded a $1,014,676.65 change order to the contract of Texas Sterling Construction of Houston, TX for the construction of Phase I of the McCarty Lane Paving and Drainage Improvements project.
The project began July 17 and will be completed by Sept. 15, officials say.
During construction the road will be closed to through traffic from the IH 35 intersection extending 180 feet eastward.
Officials say the construction will provide needed improvements to the roadway adjacent to the San Marcos Conference Center and Embassy Suites Hotel, which is slated to be completed in October.
For more information about the McCarty Lane project, contact Sabas Avila, PE, interim director of the city’s Engineering Department, at 393-8130.
