The South Hays Fire Department will be rolling out a new fire engine on Friday.
“It’s a pretty big deal,” Patty Backson, administrative assistant for Hays County Emergency Services District 3, said Tuesday.
Volunteers will gather to show the $500,000 vehicle to the public at 4 p.m. at the South Hays Fire Department at 1401 W. San Antonio St.
The building was the first station manned by South Hays Fire Department in 1998 and is also the headquarters for San Marcos Area Recovery Team, Texas Fire Academy and Hays County ESD 3.
