— Central Texas Medical Center’s (CTMC) Institute for Healthy Living is calling attention to diabetes in our community during Diabetes Alert Day. CTMC will host a free community diabetes education event on March 23 with activities from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in it’s Community Classroom.
The event will provide information on lifestyle initiatives for those dealing with diabetes. Free blood glucose and body mass index screenings will be provided for interested participants. Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by lectures including: Who Should Exercise; Inhale Exercise – Exhale Diabetes; Cooking Demonstrations; and Diabetes: By the Numbers (this seminar will also be available in Spanish).
Vendors will be present from 9 a.m. to noon. The vendors include: Sanofi Aventis, CCS Medical, Novo Nordisk, Johnson & Johnson, CTMC’s Institute for Advanced Wound Care and Animas Corporation.
