The 2012 Texas Manufacturers Summit is coming to San Marcos Feb. 14-15 and features three major keynote speakers this year.
“We’re delighted that San Marcos is hosting the event this year. Our community for years has maintained a strong manufacturing industry in Texas and our local San Marcos Manufacturers Association is one of the oldest associations in Texas,” Amy Madison, president and CEO of the Greater San Marcos Partnership, said.
“From an economic development standpoint, the growth in the manufacturing sector in San Marcos has outpaced the state as a whole,” Madison said.
Richard W. Fisher, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will give the first keynote address on Wednesday morning, Feb. 15, while State Rep. Joe Straus, speaker of the Texas House, will address the gathering at noon.
Dr. Barry Lawrence, program director of the Industrial Distribution Program at Texas A&M University will deliver the closing keynote address that night.
Participants will have the opportunity for two plant tours on the first day, with visits planned to CFAN and Goodrich Aerospace.
Breakout sessions during the day will cover a range of topics ranging from policy discussions to the business of manufacturing and innovation.
Inquiries may be directed to Angie Rhem at (800) 775-2774 ext. 211 or by email at angie.rhem@iemshows.com.
