San Marcos —
Students in San Marcos CISD celebrated “100 Days of School” on Wednesday in various ways.
Most dressed in hand-decorated costumes celebrating 100 days, sometimes decorated with pom-poms, Legos, paper clips, glitter and other imaginative ways.
Hallways boasted posters and special displays, and Mendez Elementary hosted a parade.
At Hernandez Elementary, the kindergarten classes used the “100 days” theme to learn about numbers and also how to help their community.
Kinder teacher Carol Anderson said that each class collected 25 cans of food, learning that four groups of 25 make 100, just like four quarters make one dollar.
At the end of the day, the kindergarten classes donated the 100 cans of food to the Hays County Food Bank.
