Guenther to lead Master’s School

San Marcos — The Master's School Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Brian Guenther as Head of School.

He will serve the school as its primary administrator.

The Master's School, a classically modeled Christian day school for students in kindergarten through seventh grade, is located at 1664 Centerpoint Road.

Guenther is a graduate of The University of Mary Hardin Baylor.

He began his career working for the Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center in the Outdoor Education department, and served with First Baptist Church in Kingsland as their Youth/Recreation Pastor and Contemporary Worship Leader.

He and his family moved to San Marcos to help found River Stone Community Church.

In the fall of 2006, Guenther was hired by The Master's School to lead worship and to teach a seventh grade music class.

The following year, he was the kindergraten through sixth grade music teacher, and in 2008 he was assigned to be the assistant principal.

With each added level of responsibility, Guenther has brought his love for education, commitment to excellence and passion for the Lord to his work at the school, school officials said.

"At the time I went from teaching the one music class to being the full-time music teacher, I fell in love with the school, its students, its teachers and the mission,” Guenther said. “At that time, I just thought that I would continue to be the music teacher. However, God had greater plans. With the resignation of the assistant principal the following year, I was given the opportunity to fill that position. In that role, I was able to learn more of the history of the school, its decision-making processes, and the curriculum, giving me the chance to serve the school as a whole,” he said.
