San Marcos — Early voting dates and locations for the Nov. 3 Constitutional Amendment election have been announced by Hays County Elections Administrator and Voter Registrar Joyce Cowan
Voters in San Marcos will also be voting for candidates for two city council places while residents of Hays Emergency Services District #6 will be voting on a local sales and use tax.
Residents in Driftwood will be voting on an ad valorem tax for the Driftwood Economic Development Municipal Management District.
Early voting takes place Oct. 19-30 and early voters can vote at any location within the county. Voters who don’t take advantage of early voting can vote at their designated election-day poll between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Nov. 3.
“Odd-numbered years are ‘off’ election years, so we combine many of the election-day locations because of anticipated low voter turnout,” Cowan said. “However, we’ve made it as easy as possible for voters to understand and participate in the voting process, with sample ballots and other useful information, including demonstrations on how to use voting equipment, on our Web site at http://www.elections.co.hays.tx.us/.”
Hays County offers printed and audio information in English and Spanish at its polling locations, and assistance for voters with special needs.
Anyone with questions or special needs is invited to review the Frequently Asked Questions on the Web site or contact the Elections Office at 512-393-7310, e-mail elections@co.hays.tx.us.
