Two people are dead after area car accidents on Friday.
At 12:10 a.m. Ivan Rodriguez, 22, was traveling southeast on Redwood Road on a Kawasaki motorcycle when he entered a curve at an unsafe speed, Depart-ment of Public Safety (DPS) officials said.
Rodriguez veered off the roadway, hit a guardrail, a fence and a small tree. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. Rodriguez was a resident of Rockdale.
Later that morning, Heather Lynette Perry, 29, of Lockhart, was killed on Highway 21, west of FM 2001 when she tried to pass a vehicle, the DPS said.
Her passenger car hit an 18-wheel truck head on.
