The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is committed to preserving the voices of our service men and women through ongoing oral history training workshops held in cities across Texas.
The free workshops, titled Here and There: Recollections of Texas in World War II, preserve the real stories of the dedicated men and women who contributed to the war effort.
During the month that we honor our veterans, workshops will be held on Nov. 5 in Palestine and on Nov. 10 in Beaumont.
Attempting to reach as many Texans as possible, the THC has partnered with Baylor University’s Institute for Oral History to continue conducting workshops through January 2010.
The work has also been funded by the Houston Endowment and the Summerlee Foundation of Dallas.
