San Marcos — The San Marcos Police Department will host four community meetings to discuss recent crimes that have occurred in San Marcos and the steps SMPD is taking to keep residents safe.
Some of the crimes most concerning to residents involved armed home invasions. The cases later turned out to be drug related and not random, police said.
The public will also be asked to offer any suggestions they may have to help improve services provided by the police department.
The meetings will take place at the following locations:
• Friday, Nov. 13, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Solid Rock Church, 2500 Hunter Road.
• Tuesday, Nov. 17, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holland Street Church of Christ, 205 E. Holland Street.
• Saturday, Nov. 21, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sinai Pentecostal Church, 208 Laredo Street.
• Saturday, Dec. 5, 4 to 6 p.m. at the San Marcos Community Church, 2200 Hwy 123.
