Travis Froehlich to chair organization for 2010
The Envision Central Texas (ECT) board of directors Wednesday announced that Travis Froehlich will serve as ECT’s chairman in 2010.
Froehlich is chief strategy officer for the Seton Family of Hospitals and has served on ECT’s board of directors since 2005 and ECT’s executive committee since 2007.
Froehlich’s responsibilities at Seton include strategy and operations planning and reporting for the 10-hospital healthcare system that is part of Ascension Health.
He was educated in marketing and advertising at The University of Texas at Austin and managed his own marketing research, advertising and public relations agency for 15 years before joining Seton more than 20 years ago.
He said he concentrates his civic work in issues he considers vital to the Central Texas region.
Other ECT officers elected for 2010 include Immediate Past Chair Jim Walker, director of sustainability at the University of Texas at Austin; Secretary Frederick “Fritz” Steiner, dean of the UT School of Architecture; Treasurer Tom Yantis, vice president and municipal planning lead at BWR Corporation, and Vice President-Private Sector Ward Tisdale, manager of U.S. community affairs at Advanced Micro Devices.
ECT board members elected to serve another year term include Jim Walker, director of sustainability at the University of Texas at Austin; Frederick “Fritz” Steiner, dean of the UT School of Architecture; Craig Smith, board member of the Barton Springs-Edwards Aquifer Conservation District; Channy Soeur, CEO of CAS Consulting and Services, Inc. and Mark Stine, community trails program coordinator of Bike Texas.
Individuals newly elected the ECT Board of Directors include Nikelle Mead of Brown McCarroll L.L.P.; Oscar Fogle, board member of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority; Joe Lessard, senior planning director at Knudson LP and Carlos Lopez, district engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation, Austin District.
Envision Central Texas strives to serve as a catalyst for change in the region’s growth management strategies so that it can advance Central Texas’ vision for the future.
ECT believes the region must improve how it grows in order to sustain the area’s quality of life and competitiveness.
