Two men were indicted by the Hays County Grand Jury for a murder that occurred in August.
Zackhary Allen James, 20, of Luling, and Quenten Rashad Taylor, 21, of San Marcos, were charged in the shooting death of 30-year-old Byron Burse.
The incident occurred Aug. 26 at Kelsea’s Place apartments, where police said the suspects kicked down the front door of Burse’s apartment just hours after an altercation.
Burse was transported to Central Texas Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital.
According to San Marcos Police Commander Terry Nichols, James told police he shot Burse several times after Taylor kicked down the door.
Both remain in Hays County jail. Bond for James was set at $750,000, while Taylor’s bond is $500,000.
