Remembering Rudy Mesa
Security contractors at Camp Mesa in western Iraq display a city of San Marcos flag that was requested by an associate of Mesa, a former San Marcos police officer who was killed in Iraq on May 8, 2006 while serving as a private security agent. The flag was returned to San Marcos and briefly flew over SMPD headquarters Tuesday before being retired for display.
