From staff reports
Hays County authorities say they've got the man who robbed a Dripping Springs grocery in November.
Richard Falcon Jr., 25, of Dripping Springs was arrested Dec. 15 on warrants stemming from the Nov. 24 armed robbery of the Dripping Springs Grocery, 601 Hwy. 290.
Hays deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery with shots fired around 6 p.m. on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, learning from witnesses that a suspect entered wearing a gray hoodie with a mask that was possibly a pillow case over his face and brandishing a shotgun.
He demanded money and a clerk complied, handing him a bag. That's when a customer grabbed the shotgun, Lt. Leroy Opiela of the Hays County Sheriff's Office said.
A tussle ensued and the weapon went off once, the shot hitting the store's ceiling.
The suspect dropped the money running to a getaway dark-colored Honda.
The money was recovered, as was the weapon.
Falcon was held overnight on a $50,000 bond for aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
