The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Arctic cold front due to hit town around daylight will bring with it northerly winds from 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving, and to be alert to sudden gusts which may cause them to lose control of their vehicle.
