Norris earns Wings of Gold

— Jonathan Norris, son of San Marcos Fire Rescue Capt. Tommy Norris and Gwen Norris of San Marcos recently received the coveted U.S. Naval Aviation Wings of Gold signifying him as a recognized naval aviator.
Jonathan, graduate of Hill Country Christian School Class of 2001 and graduate of the United States Naval Academy class of 2005, received one of the much sought after and prestigious aviation slots from the academy which places approximately 250 pilots into the naval flight program out of approximately 1,200 graduates.
Jonathan successfully completed fixed wing light training in Corpus Christi and received his choice of rotary wing flight as a career. Jonathan attended advanced flight training in Pensacola, Florida and graduated receiving the naval Wings of Gold in May of 2007.
Jonathan has been promoted to Lt. Jr. Grade and is currently stationed in Norfolk, Virginia flying the Sea Hawk helicopter.
