Nash Davies
Anne Elizabeth Nash and Ashton Jarrett Davies were united in marriage at five o'clock in the afternoon on June 21, 2008 at the United States Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, MD.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Durham Nash, Jr. of San Marcos. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lucette Topper and the late Robert L. Topper of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Nash of Austin. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Roland Stephen Davies of Austin. He is the grandson of Mrs. Georgie Hederhorst and the late Fred Hederhorst of Baytown, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davies of Dallas.
The weekend celebration began on Thursday with a welcome party hosted by the bride's mother's family at the Sailing Center on the campus of the United States Naval Academy. The following day, the wedding party attended a casual luncheon at the Annapolis Yacht Club, then enjoyed a walking tour to the Chapel for rehearsal.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents invited family and friends to a crabfest at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Guests sailed across the bay for dinner and toasts at sunset. On the day of the wedding, the bride's father's family hosted a brunch at a private home overlooking the Severn River. Following the wedding ceremony in the Naval Chapel, the bride's parents entertained the guests with a seated dinner and dancing at the historic Oxon Hill Manor overlooking the Potomac River.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected a couture gown of ivory silk satin designed by Carolina Herrera. The strapless gown featured a pleated neckline, dropped waist and chapel train. The silhouette was adorned with a re-embroidered floral sash which fell into a satin train. To compliment her gown, the bride wore an illusion chapel length veil appliquéd with Alencon lace worn by her mother and, carried a hand-tied bouquet of lily of the valley on the small family Bible, also held by her mother.
Serving as attendants to the bride were her sisters, Katherine Lucette Nash and Caroline Durham Nash, both of New York City, and the sister of the groom, Sheridan Davies Bunch of San Antonio. Godparents of the bride, Mr. Will Price and Mrs. James N. Scott, read the scripture.
Honor attendants of the bride were Mrs. Kacey McCarty of New Braunfels, Miss Whitney Elizabeth Solcher of San Antonio, Mrs. Abigail Engman Duty of Tyler, Mrs. Maura Davies of Dallas, Miss Amanda Hughes of Washington D.C., Ms. Lauren Wimpee Marshall of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Mrs. Emily Gray Veazey of Atlanta, Ga. Honor attendants from Austin were Mrs. Megan Eppright Matza, Miss Mary Anna Musselman, Miss Katherine Harner, Miss Katherine Chapin Hertel, Mrs. Emily Getschow Thawley and Mrs. Virginia Parker.
Honor attendants from Houston were Miss Courtney Cochran, Miss Kelly Fly, Miss Caroline Kappler, Mrs. Claire Kuhen Getschow and Mrs. Allison Hamilton.
Mr. Stephen Cory Davies of Dallas, and brother of the groom, served as best man. Attendants to the groom from Austin were Mr. Corbin Jastrow, Mr. Clayton Klutts, Mr. Matthew Murphy, Mr. Thomas Harper IV, Mr. William Harper and Mr. Blake Bergstrom. Other attendants included Mr. Jon Cody Bunch of San Antonio, Mr. Andrew Haden of San Diego, California, Mr. Kostas Hatzidakis of Garden Grove, California, and Mr. Corey McCauley and Mr. Will Schramme both of Dallas. Attendants from Washington D.C were Mr. John Daniel Sullivan, Mr. Matthew Evans and Lt. Mark Radlinski.
Anne is a 1997 graduate of San Marcos Baptist Academy and received her bachelor's degree in 2001 from the University of Texas, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Jarrett is a 1996 graduate of Austin High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2000 from the United States Naval Academy, where he was also a member of the football team.
While in the Navy, Jarrett served on the U.S.S. Iwo Jima and the U.S.S. Fitzgerald, participating in Nobel Eagle, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Returning to Austin, Jarrett received his Master of Business Administration from the University Of Texas McCombs School Of Business.
Following a honeymoon in Bali, Mr. and Mrs. Jarrett Davies now reside in Dallas where the groom is employed as an associate with Houlihan Lokey.
