Tijerina, Alvarez
Mr. and Mrs. Agustin and Elvira Tijerina of Asherton and Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Margie Alvarez of San Marcos are proud to announce the engagement of their children, Miss Debra Lee Tijerina and Mr. Joe Anthony Alvarez.
Debra graduated from Asherton High School in 1999 and then went on to graduate from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Social Work. Debra is currently employed with the State of Texas in Austin.
Joe Anthony graduated from San Marcos High School in 1999 and then went on to graduate from Texas State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Technology with a major in Engineering Technology. Joe Anthony is currently employed with a site work contracting firm in San Antonio.
Debra is the granddaughter of Mrs. Simona Guadriola Riojas and the late Mr. Faustino Riojas of Crystal City and the late Mr. Ignacio Tijerina of Asherton. Joe Anthony is the grandson of Mrs. Consuelo Alonzo and the late Mr. Agustin Alonzo of San Marcos and the late Mrs. Guadalupe Charles Alvarez and Mr. Jose Alvarez of Lockhart.
The couple will marry Oct. 31, 2009 at St. John’s Catholic Church in San Marcos, and will reside in New Braunfels.
