In the historic setting of the Mission San Jose in San Antonio, Katherine Lucette Nash and Jack Joseph Goehring IV were united in marriage on June 27, at seven o’clock in the evening. Officiating the double-ring ceremony was the Rt. Reverend James E. Folts, former Episcopal Bishop of the Diocese of West Texas.
The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Durham Nash, Jr. of San Marcos. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lucette Topper of San Marcos and the late Mr. Robert Topper of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nash of Austin.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Joseph Goehring III of McLean, Va. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Baskin of Greenville, Miss. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Joseph Goehring Jr. of Norwalk, Conn.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown by Rivini featuring four cascading tiers of Alencon lace adorned by a crystal waistband and complimented by the veil worn by her mother. Fastened into her bridal bouquet by a satin ribbon was an antique silver garter with the monogram of the groom’s great, great grandmother.
Bridesmaids wore coral dresses with ruffled hems and turquoise earrings by Texas designer Kendra Scott. The bride was attended by her sisters, Anne Nash Davies of Dallas,and Caroline Durham Nash, of New York City. Other attendants included Mrs. Sidney Hawkins Gargiulo of New York City, Mrs. Cameron Davis Glass, Miss Alice Rodman Green, and Miss Joanna Elaine Smith, all of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Leigh Hearne Hillenmeyer of Nashville, Tenn., Miss Helen Owens Marinez of Orlando, Fla., Miss Annie Manchester Navarra of La Jolla, California, Miss Sarah Steen Ruane of Fairway, Kan. and Dr. Cynthia Irby Wilson of Charleston, S.C.Attending the groom were his brothers, Kirk Montgomery Goehring of New York City and Lee Wortham Goehring of McLean, Va. Also serving as groomsmen and ushers was Mr. Yorke Allen IV, and Mr. Jed Lewis Goehring of McLean, Va., Mr. George Trenholm Boggs, Jr., Mr. Keith Francis Huffman, Mr. Reed Wilton Landry, and Mr. Douglas Anthony Trabandt, all of Washington, D.C., Mr. Ashton Jarrett Davies of Dallas, Mr. Todd Griffin Kincaide of Evanston, Ill.,Mr. James Edward Tyrell III of Arlington, Va. and Mr. Patrick Fitzsimmons Kris and Mr. Christopher James Soverow, both of New York City. Cousins of the bride and groom, Patrick Roland Sheehy and Wilson Sinclair Buntin were readers. The greeter, Reilly Sheehy and ringbearer, Oliver Buntin wore guayaberas as they accompanied the flower girl, Sophie Lung, in an embroidered Oaxacan dress once worn by the bride.
Embracing the different cultures of San Antonio, out of town guests were treated to a Welcome Fiesta in the patio of La Fonda Restaurant, hosted by Bride’s aunts and close family friends. The following day, the bridesmaids enjoyed lunch on the river while the groom’s party tried their skill at the San Antonio Gun Club.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the Groom’s family, began with dinner and toasts in the Toepperwein Room of the Buckhorn Saloon, and continued with friends joining in the Saloon to continue the celebration. At a brunch on the day of her wedding, the Bride’s paternal Grandparent’s and aunt, entertained on the patio overlooking the river at Club Giraud.
Following the wedding ceremony, guests were serenaded as they arrived at the headquarters of the historic Gallagher Ranch. Dinner and dancing under the stars was held in the courtyard of the hacienda illuminated by luminarias and paper lanterns.
Following their honeymoon in Tahiti, the couple reside in New York , where Mrs. Goehring is the corporate communications and investor relations director at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Mr. Goehring is an associate director of the media and telecom investment banking group at UBS, the Swiss Bank.
