KZSM it just keeps getting better

Sunday, April 21, 2019

Last week we mentioned the return of two of our former staff members. Shannon of Mind Your Ear can now be heard every Wednesday afternoon from 4 – 6 p.m. Griffin will begin hosting his new program, Griffin’s Nest, on Wednesday, April 24 and will follow Mind Your Ear at 6 p.m. We are delighted to have these talented individuals return to your true community radio family.

Recently, we also received an inquiry from another staff member who has also been on hiatus. AyyJayy Rangel will be returning to his old time slot on Thursdays from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with Cosmic Grooves. His program incorporates music of many genres and we look forward to the surprises he has in store for us!

Part of the magnificence of community radio is that it provides opportunities in broadcasting that would not necessarily be available to most folks. Those who have had to leave for a time still relish the experience and often look forward to returning as the time and situation permit.

If you have an idea for a program, then join us for our next volunteer staff meeting which will be held on Wednesday April 24 at Wake the Dead Coffee House. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Some programs that we would like to incorporate into our schedule are: Country music, Classical music, Blues music, Bluegrass, and a program completely in Spanish. If you or someone you know has an interest in producing these or any other program that would serve the needs of the community, then let us know.

If you would like to support community radio, not necessarily in front of a microphone, there are plenty of other opportunities available to support what we do. Administrative, clerical, and computer skills are also needed. Of course, since we are a 501c(3) non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of our supporters. Your financial support is always welcome as well.

In the Kissing Alley in May, we hail the return of Thunderosa and Lina Clarke. They have both graced our Kissing Alley concert series before and we are thrilled to have them both return. We have an idea for the Kissing Alley for the month of July that we are developing. We are thinking about having a Karaoke night in the Kissing Alley! We will give the details as they become available.
