Police seek man with two-toned hair who tried to rape girl
By ANITA MILLER
San Marcos Police have issued a call for public assistance in finding the man with a distinctive hairdo who attempted to sexually assault a 12-year-old girl in a local neighborhood late last night.
Commander Kelly Earnest said the girl was walking her puppy in the 900 block of Sycamore around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when a man approached her, grabbed her and forced her into the back yard.
Earnest said the man was fondling the girl and had asked her to perform a sex act. He ran away when one of the girl’s adult family members stepped outside to check on her.
He is described as between five feet, nine inches and five feet, 11 inches and had a thin build with no facial hair. The girl told investigators that his hair was cut in a crew cut style but with one distinction — the hair on one side of a middle part was dark brown, while the other side was blond.
He was reportedly wearing light colored pants, a dark shirt and a black leather jacket. The girl told police he smelled like beer.
